Giugiaro Architettura commissioned by Italgas to renovate the historic headquarters in Corso Regina Margherita

June 12, 2023

The City of Turin and Italgas presented on June 12 the project for the group’s new innovation hub that will be built at the company’s historic headquarters in Corso Regina Margherita.

The project, thanks to an investment of 35 million euros, will involve the overall redevelopment of the area, which covers about 44,000 square meters: after the major renovation and architectural enhancement of the Largo Regio Parco buildings and area, Giugiaro Architettura has been commissioned to take care of the conservative renovation of the pre-existing buildings and the modernization of the external areas of the historic headquarters, the construction of a new building that will house a Hub for research and innovation, and the creation of more than 9 thousand square meters of new green spaces and pedestrian and bicycle paths within the site.

The timeline for the work includes two distinct construction phases: by 2025 all the existing buildings and outdoor areas will be upgraded, while in 2026 the new Hub will be completed and the two gasometers, structures of industrial archaeology with great historical and identifying value for Turin, will be enhanced.
