On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the official inauguration ceremony of the new “Generale Odasso” bridge was held: a project by Giugiaro Architettura, which oversaw the work from feasibility design to street furniture consultancy, through executive design and art direction, of fundamental importance for the safety and development of the town and surrounding area, replacing the pre-existing structure.

The conception of the new bridge, based on a stylistic concept set by Giorgetto Giugiaro, is conditioned by compliance with the fundamental requirement placed at the basis of the design: the safeguarding of the new structure from the risks caused by the increasingly aggressive and sudden flooding of the river, which involves the construction of a single-span bridge without the interposition of piers in the riverbed.

In addition to performing the function of connecting the two banks, the new bridge integrates harmoniously within the built-up area, respecting its pre-established balances and at the same time assuming a strong connotation from a stylistic and symbolic point of view: the deck is characterized by a fluid and sinuous design that accompanies the progressive widening at the central section, which ideally re-proposes the theme of the “square,” giving the bridge the value of a point of rest and meeting, as well as that of connection.
